When
thinking about what I would like to do after finishing my degree, there is a
postgraduate course that I would like to take: musicology. Currently, in the
program of my career, there are some classes that are approaches to
musicological research, but I think I need to have more tools to carry out a
good investigation. My objective is, on
the one hand, to be able to systematize knowledge that the people (musicians,
audience, etc.) generate about some genres of popular music which today only is
transmitted by oral language, in order to contribute to its conservation and
teaching, and on the other hand, to generate new knowledge through
research. I would like to have the
subjects: research methodologies,
analysis of musical repertoire, history of popular music in Latin America and
some subjects about organology. Regarding the place, I would love to take the
postgraduate course in musicology dictated by the University of the Republic of
Uruguay, because it has a research focus that I like a lot, and also, because
it would help me a lot to live in the country where I can develop the artistic
genre to which I dedicate myself: the Uruguayan murga. In this way, I plan in the future to live a
few years in Montevideo to be able to take this postgraduate course in person,
and ideally, I would do it part-time in order to be able to dedicate time to
work, and hopefully, also I will be able to sing in an Uruguayan murga.
See you!

See you!

wow Constanza, you have a wonderful dream, musical research is something that is not commonly practiced, hopefully you can fulfill your dream
ResponderEliminarwhat things would you research?
ResponderEliminarI would like to research the Uruguayan murga, because although there are researches about the carnival, there aren't so many investigations about only murga. And from that base, I would like to address topics such as the sung voice, music and politics, music and society, among others.
EliminarI hope you fulfill you dreem, Coni. I think that musical research is something you will be very good!
